Throughout the month of May, the EU Delegation marks 'Europe Day' with celebrations in Indonesia.The core of the activities focuses on the idea of bringing people closer through art, culture, cooperation, sport and education.
One of the main event is the 16th European Film Festival – ‘Europe on Screen’ (EOS), held from 29 April to 8 May 2016 in six cities. EOS showcases 78 films from 22 European countries.
On 11 May, the EU will launch the Blue Book 2016 - an annual report on EU-Indonesia development cooperation. The presentation will be followed by a discussion on good governance.
On 15 May an EU Run will take place along the main street of Jakarta. On finishing at Intiland Tower – the office building of the EU Delegation – participants will reach an EU entertainment area, where they can experience European culture and food.
An EU-Indonesia Scholarships Info Day will be held on 28 May. This is a great opportunity for students, parents, academics and the general public to find out more about scholarships offered by the EU and its Member States.
In May, the EU will also launch a new video celebrating the forests and elephantsand highlighting the EU's commitment to environment protection and the fight against climate change.
In addition, EU Member States are organising many cultural activities including by the Czech Republic, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden.
