About this activity

The ‘take - make - use - throw away’ approach to scarce resources is outdated. It’s time to close the loop and invest in the circular economy and green growth!

The Circular Economy package adopted by the European Commission in December 2015 brings all the pieces together: from production, consumption, waste management, secondary raw materials to innovation & investment; it covers the whole product lifecycle.

At the EU Open Day, two European Commission's Directorates-General: DG GROW (Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs) and DG ENV (Environment), will be presenting a common stand under the theme "Circular Economy – closing the loop".  Visitors will be invited to participate in the Wheel of Fortune animation with questions on various aspects of the circular economy. The information and answers to questions will be provided on information panels in an entertaining way. Every participant will have a chance to win great – and most importantly: sustainable! – prizes!

The European Commission is the EU's politically independent executive arm. It is alone responsible for drawing up proposals for new European legislation, and it implements the decisions of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU.
