Mint minden évben, az európai intézmények idén is megemlékeztek a történelmi jelentőségű Schuman-nyilatkozatról, mely 1950. május 9-én hangzott el. Ez a pillanat jelentette az európai integráció és a béke és egység érdekében folytatott együttműködés kezdetét.
Az idei brüsszeli uniós nyílt nap időpontja május 4., szombat volt. De nemcsak Brüsszelben, hanem Luxembourgban, Strasbourgban és szerte az uniós tagállamokban is voltak izgalmas rendezvények és programok, melyeknek idén a június 6–9-i európai választások kölcsönöztek különös jelentőséget.
Azok, akik az uniós nyílt napon ellátogattak az egyes események helyszínére, többet megtudhattak arról, milyen hatással van az EU a mindennapi életünkre, és hogyan vehetünk részt mindannyian közös jövőnk alakításában!
