Europe Day commemorates the signing of the 'Schuman Declaration' on 9 May 1950. This was an ambitious plan to secure long-term peace in post-war Europe that is considered the beginning of what is now the European Union.
This May the EU institutions invite you to a wide range of activities across the EU Member States, as well as in the home of the EU institutions in Brussels, Luxembourg and Strasbourg. As 2023 is the European Year of Skills, the EU is eager to help people get the right skills for quality jobs and companies to address skills shortages.
